A recommendation is only worth something if it comes from real use. Here is how we test.
Devices (Echo, Kindle, Fire TV, Ring, eero and more)
- Real homes, real time. We use each device in everyday conditions for a minimum of one week before publishing a full review — longer for battery-dependent products like Kindles and Ring cameras.
- Setup from the box. We document the out-of-box experience, including the app, account linking and any upsells.
- Measured, not guessed. Where possible we measure: battery life, Wi-Fi throughput, video quality in low light, response latency, and more.
- Privacy check. We review what data the device collects, which privacy controls exist, and whether they are on by default.
- Value verdict. We compare against previous generations and competitors at the price you actually pay, including sale prices.
AWS services and developer tools
- We deploy it ourselves in a real AWS account, following the official documentation.
- We report real pricing using the AWS pricing pages and calculator, with worked examples for small and large workloads.
- We note regional availability, including India (Mumbai and Hyderabad) regions.
- Code samples we publish are tested before publication.
Services (Prime, Prime Video, Music, Audible)
We use the service as a paying customer, compare plans and prices across regions where relevant, and explain who it is and isn't worth it for.
When we haven't tested something
For launches and announcements we haven't tried yet, we say so clearly and rely on official specifications and documentation. If we later get hands-on, we update or publish a full review.
Scores and verdicts
Every review ends with a clear verdict: who should buy it, who should skip it, and what to buy instead. Affiliate relationships never influence a verdict (Affiliate Disclosure).
