Bee Eclipse Release Date, Price and Pre-Order: Everything We Know

Amazon hasn't announced a release date for Bee Eclipse yet. On 15 October 2026, Amazon said the magnetic phone-attached AI recorder is "coming soon", starting at $99.99, and that its sibling, the Bee Frontier wearable, is on sale now for $74.99. Amazon hasn't opened pre-orders either. Here's what's confirmed, what's been reported and what's still unknown.

For the full launch story covering both devices, read our main article on Amazon's Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse AI wearables.

What is Amazon Bee Eclipse?

Bee Eclipse is an AI recorder from Bee, the personal AI company Amazon acquired in 2025. It's a slim, lightweight card, about the size of a credit card, that attaches magnetically to the back of your smartphone. Like other Bee devices, it captures conversations, including phone calls, and the Bee app turns them into summaries, to-dos and insights.

Amazon positions the two new devices for different habits:

  • Bee Frontier is for people who want something on their wrist or clipped to their clothes all day.
  • Bee Eclipse is for people who'd rather keep a recorder on their phone, which is useful for calls and meetings where the phone is already on the table.

A note on the name: searching for "bee eclipse" on its own brings up a lot of solar-eclipse merchandise. Search for "Amazon Bee Eclipse" or "Bee Eclipse AI" to find the actual product.

When is the Bee Eclipse release date?

Confirmed: Amazon says Bee Eclipse "will be available soon", starting at $99.99.

Reported: TechCrunch describes Eclipse as arriving "soon after" Bee Frontier.

Not known: a specific date, month or launch window. Amazon hasn't said whether Eclipse will ship before the end of 2026.

We'll update this article when Amazon gives a date.

How much does Bee Eclipse cost?

Bee Eclipse starts at $99.99. "Starting at" suggests there could be more than one configuration or bundle, but Amazon hasn't explained what would cost more.

All details in the table come from Amazon's announcement, except where noted as not stated.

What about Bee Pro?

Both devices come with conversation summaries, recaps and 14 days of memory at no extra cost. Bee Pro costs $11.99 a month, and new Bee customers get 30 days free. Pro adds:

  • Unlimited recent conversation summaries
  • Alexa+ and Amazon.com connections
  • Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook connections
  • Suggested to-dos, daily memories, a personal chat assistant and conversation templates
  • The new Bee desktop app

Over a year, Bee Pro costs about $144, which is more than the Eclipse itself. If you mainly want Alexa+ access, budget for both.

Can you pre-order Bee Eclipse?

Not as far as we can confirm. Amazon's announcement doesn't mention pre-orders, a waitlist or a sign-up for notifications. If Amazon opens pre-orders, the listing is most likely to appear on Amazon.com, where Bee Frontier is sold, but that's our expectation rather than an announcement.

Be careful with listings from other sellers that claim to sell "Bee Eclipse" before Amazon does, and with search results for eclipse-themed products that have nothing to do with Amazon's device.

Bee Eclipse features: what Amazon has confirmed

  • Magnetic attachment to the back of a smartphone. Amazon's official image shows Eclipse on the back of a phone.
  • More than 21 days of battery on a single charge, about three times Frontier's rating.
  • One on/off button and an indicator light that shows when it's listening.
  • Permission prompts for calls. Amazon says Eclipse prompts you to get permission from the other people on a call each time a recording starts.
  • Bee Private Compute. Like Frontier, Eclipse uses Amazon's isolated processing system. Audio is processed in real time and deleted, and transcripts are encrypted with keys your device controls.
  • Works with the Bee app on iPhone and Android, plus the desktop app with Bee Pro.

What we don't know yet

Question Status
Exact release date Not announced
Pre-order date Not announced
What "starting at $99.99" includes, and any higher-priced versions Not explained
Countries where it will be sold Not announced; Amazon lists US pricing on Amazon.com
Which phones the magnet works with, and whether it needs a magnetic case Not stated
Charging method and port Not stated by Amazon
Water resistance Not stated
Weight and exact dimensions Not stated beyond "about the size of a credit card"
How call recording works on iPhone and Android Not detailed

The phone question matters most. Amazon says Eclipse "attaches magnetically", but it hasn't said whether that relies on a phone's built-in magnets (as with Apple's MagSafe), a supplied ring or plate, or a magnetic case. Wait for the official spec sheet before assuming it'll fit your phone.

How does Bee Eclipse compare with other AI recorders?

Eclipse joins a busy category of card-style and pocket AI recorders. TechCrunch's launch report compared Bee's pricing with several rivals:

Device Price cited by TechCrunch
Amazon Bee Eclipse From $99.99
Pocket AI device $129
Plaud Note $159
Plaud Note Pro $189

On hardware price, Eclipse undercuts these rivals. The fuller picture depends on running costs. Rival recorders have their own subscription plans, and Bee keeps Alexa+, Amazon.com, email and calendar connections and unlimited summaries behind Bee Pro. Amazon's advantage is integration. No other recorder in this list can pass your conversation summaries to Alexa+ on an Echo device. Whether that matters to you depends on how much you already use Alexa+, and on whether Alexa+ is offered in your country.

Should you wait for Eclipse or buy Frontier now?

Neither device has had widely published long-term reviews yet, so this comes down to how you'd use it:

  • Choose Frontier if you want to buy now, record mostly in-person conversations, or need water resistance for all-day wear.
  • Wait for Eclipse if your important conversations happen on calls, you don't want anything on your wrist, or you'd value three weeks of battery life.

The price gap is $25, and Bee Pro costs the same with either device.
